Sydney-based four-piece The Rions have drop their (not so) haunting single,

Sydney-based four-piece The Rions dropped their single Scary Movies — a shimmering indie-rock track produced by Chris Collins (Matt Corby, Skegss, Middle Kids). Mude led the music video production for the release, drawing from the visual language of German Expressionist cinema to create something both stylised and self-aware. The clip reimagines the band as cult horror icons — Dracula, Wolfman, The Invisible Man, and Frankenstein — performing with tongue-in-cheek intensity in a theatrical black-and-white world. Balancing visual wit with narrative tone. Beneath its camp aesthetic, Scary Movies explores the tension between confidence and vulnerability — a theme captured through movement, lighting, and design. The result is a film that plays with genre and performance — a nod to classic horror with the irreverence of modern indie music culture.
